三升 Mie-Masu

This pattern is named after the square masu cups used for drinking sake. Initially these cups were used to measure rice portions in feudal Japan. Today, they are used in special occasions as a gesture of generosity, as your host will present you with a sake glass in a masu, and pour until the glass overflows.
